Which port are you connecting to — 100 mm or 35 mm?
This is the comparison that saves the most money on this site, because the two machines are routinely confused. One moves a large volume of air at low pressure; the other moves a small volume at high pressure. Buy the wrong one and it collects almost nothing while sounding exactly as though it works.

Buy the DC500 for a planer, a table saw or a band saw. Those machines have 100 mm ports and produce bulk chips, and only a high-volume collector clears them.
Buy the HD2P for a sander, a small router or bench clean-up. 120 m³/h is a vacuum figure, and a vacuum is the right machine at the narrow end of a hose.
Not well. Reducing a 100 mm port to a 50 mm hose leaves a small fraction of the airflow, because flow falls sharply as diameter drops — a chip collector fed through a narrow hose can collect less than a vacuum would. Match the machine to the port.
Neither of these is rated for it. Bag filters on chip collectors return a good deal of the fine fraction to the room, and this vacuum publishes no dust class. Add a cyclone separator ahead of the collector, and read the extraction hub on class L against class M before deciding what protects you.
