Every figure below is a manufacturer specification read off the listing itself. The judgments are ours.

What the specification says

Eighteen sleeves at grit 120, three each in 13, 19, 26, 38, 51 and 76 mm (2.99 in). Part number 7903400702. The title names the OSM600 and OSM100; the description names the OSM101.

Sleeves are the running cost

An oscillating spindle sander is a cheap machine with an expensive appetite. The sleeve is what wears, and the oscillation that stops it burning also spreads the wear over the full height of the sleeve rather than a band in the middle — which is the point of the machine, and why sleeves last longer on it than on a plain drum in a drill press.

The model number muddle

Three model numbers appear on one page. The Scheppach spindle sander reviewed on this site is the OSM100, which the title names directly, and the sleeve diameters match its drum set.

Saws this fits

What comes up most often

Why is a single grit a limitation?

Because a spindle sander is usually doing two different jobs. Cleaning up a bandsawn curve wants a coarse sleeve that removes the saw marks quickly; preparing that same curve for finish wants a fine one. Grit 120 sits between the two and does both slowly. It is the right single grit if you can only have one, and one is what this set gives you.

Do the diameters have to match the machine?

Exactly, yes. Each sleeve slips over a rubber drum that expands as the top nut is tightened, and the drum sizes are fixed by the machine. A sleeve of the wrong diameter either will not go on or spins on the drum and burns. Check the drum set your sander came with before ordering.
