Every figure below is a manufacturer specification read off the listing itself. The judgments are ours.

What the specification says

0 to 150 mm (0 to 5.91 in), ±0.02 mm, hardened stainless steel, four measuring modes, a zero function, millimeter and inch switching, five-minute auto-off, splash and dust resistant. Supplied in a case with a screwdriver and two spare batteries. Part number A41-HDDCKC03-2.

Steel rather than plastic

The cheap end of this category is molded composite, which flexes under thumb pressure and gives a different reading depending on how hard the jaws are closed. A hardened steel beam does not, and it also survives being dropped on a workshop floor. On a tool whose whole purpose is a repeatable number, the material is not a cosmetic choice.

Batteries are the failure mode

A digital caliper is almost always dead when you reach for it, because the cell drains slowly whether or not the display is off. Two spares in the box and a five-minute auto-off between them make that less likely, and it is worth keeping the spares in the case rather than in a drawer.

What comes up most often

Is this level of precision useful on wood?

The absolute number rarely is — a board changes width across a season by far more than two hundredths of a millimeter. What the precision buys is comparison: making a tenon match a mortice, checking that four legs are the same, confirming a bit is the diameter it claims. Wood moves, and matching two pieces of it is still exact work.

What is the zero button for?

Differential measurement, and it is the feature that turns a caliper into a comparator. Close it on a reference — a bit, a finished part, a gauge block — press zero, and every reading afterwards is the difference from that reference rather than an absolute size. For repeated parts it is faster and less error-prone than reading and subtracting.
