Every figure below is a manufacturer specification read off the listing itself. The judgments are ours.

What the specification says

82 × 5.5 × 1.2 mm (3.23 × 0.22 × 0.05 in), HSS, ten per pack. Part number 4794. No EAN on the listing. The manufacturer names Bosch hand planers and hand planing tools generally.

The size is the fitment

Eighty-two millimeters is the width of a hand-held electric planer’s cut, and it has been an effective standard for decades — which is why blades for it are cheap and available everywhere. It is not a bench machine size. The planer thicknessers reviewed here take much longer knives, and nothing in the 82 mm (3.23 in) class appears on the site.

HSS on a disposable blade

High speed steel holds a sharper edge than carbide and is more tolerant of the occasional knot. On a disposable double-edged blade the difference matters less than it would on a resharpenable knife, because the cost per edge is fixed either way. Where it shows is the first pass after a change, on figured or interlocked timber.

Catalogued and unsold: the American Amazon shop lists the reference with nobody behind it.

What comes up most often

Must both blades be changed together?

Yes, always. Two blades in one cutter block have to sit on the same cutting circle, and a new blade beside a worn one stands proud. It then takes the whole cut on its own, blunts at several times the normal rate, and leaves a ripple that owners routinely blame on the machine. A ten-pack is five changes, not ten.

Why do these blades measure 5.5 mm (0.22 in) wide?

Because they are the disposable double-edged type that drops into a slot in the block and is located by it, rather than being set by hand against a gauge. That is the whole design: no setting, no measuring, and when both edges are gone the blade is finished. It is why they are sold in tens.
