The end of it The best value in this group. A complete, working track saw system for the price of a bare tool elsewhere.
Every figure is a manufacturer specification, read off the
listing itself, and the judgments are ours — drawn from how the
specification behaves in this class of machine and from what long-term
owners consistently report. Where a figure is missing, we say so rather
than fill it in.
What the specification says
1,600 W, cut depth up to 75 mm (2.95 in), a 160 mm (6.30 in) carbide blade with 36 teeth, a minimum
wall distance of 16 mm (0.63 in), and a closed blade guard feeding the extraction port.
The box holds the saw, a 1,400 mm (55.1 in) guide rail, an anti-tip fitting, two screw
clamps, a rail connector and a kickback stop. Part number 5901804901-901.
Scheppach rates it for solid timber, MDF, laminate, worktops, plastics and
coated boards.
The rail is the purchase, not the saw
A track saw is bought once and lived with for a decade, because the rail
system is what you are committing to. Rails are not reliably
interchangeable between brands: the rib the saw rides on differs in
width and profile, and a saw running on a rail it was not cut for gives
you a chipped edge on the good face.
Two consequences. First, compare systems, not saws — the cost of the
extra rails, connectors and clamps you will buy over ten years dwarfs
the difference between two machines. Second, the splinter strip on a new
rail is a consumable that must be trimmed by the saw that will use it,
before the first real cut.
Scheppach’s system is the smallest of the ones we cover, and that is the real
cost of the price. It matters less than it sounds if you buy one rail and never
extend — which is what most people do — and it matters a great deal if you were
planning to build out parallel guides and multiple lengths over the years.
Where the value is
At €200 the rail alone would be a reasonable share of the money on a
professional system. Getting the saw, 1,400 mm (55.1 in) of track, the clamps and the
connector together means this is a working tool the day it arrives, with nothing
else to order. That is a rarer thing in this category than it should be.

The good side, and the catch
Strengths
A 1,400 mm (55.1 in) rail, two clamps and a connector included at €200
75 mm (2.95 in) of depth, which is more than the sheet-goods job needs
16 mm (0.63 in) minimum wall distance, so it will trim close to a wall
One reference and one EAN across all six markets
Compromises
The Scheppach rail ecosystem is far smaller than Makita's or Festool's
For a cross-cut across a 1,220 mm (48 in) sheet, yes, with a little to spare at each end for the plunge and the run-off. For a full 2,440 mm (96.1 in) rip you need a second section and the connector, and the connector is in this box while the second rail is not.
What does the 16 mm (0.63 in) wall distance buy?
It is how close to a vertical surface the saw will cut, and it is the specification that lets you trim a fitted worktop or a floor against a skirting without dismantling anything. Most plunge saws publish it and it is worth comparing.
Is the American price a mistake?
No — it is an import listing. €407 on amazon.com against €200 in Germany is the shipping, the duty and the importer's margin on a machine that is not distributed locally. American readers should treat it as a curiosity rather than a price.
