Festool is not really competing on the saw. The TS 55 F cuts sheet goods to a standard the Makita SP6000J also reaches, at roughly half the price.
What Festool sells is everything around it: the rail range, the connectors, the parallel guides, the clamps, the Systainer storage that stacks with the extraction, and an accessory catalog with an answer for jobs you have not met yet.
Honestly: count what you will actually add. A workshop that will buy three rails, a pair of parallel guides and an extractor over five years gets value the price comparison does not show. A workshop that will buy one rail and use it does not, and the Makita is the better purchase.
The TS 55 F-Plus Master Edition listing does not itemize what is in the box, and “Master Edition” is a bundle designation rather than a model. At this price, confirm the contents with the seller before ordering.
