The DWS774 with 400 more watts and a sliding fence — worth it if you cut hardwood all day, and not otherwise.

Not speed. A mitre saw is not feed-limited by power in softwood — it is limited by how fast you can safely bring the head down. What the bigger motor buys is consistency under load: the tenth cut in 45 mm oak at the end of a hot afternoon turns at the same speed as the first, where a smaller motor drops revolutions and starts to burn the shoulder.
If your work is trim, flooring and studwork, that scenario does not arise, and the DWS774 below does the same job with the same cut line for about a hundred euros less.
A laser projects a red line near the cut. A shadow line puts an LED behind the blade and lets the blade cast its own shadow onto the workpiece. The difference is not cosmetic: a laser is a separate part aimed at where the blade is supposed to be, so it needs calibration and it drifts; a shadow is cast by the blade itself, so it shows the actual kerf, it moves when you change the blade, and there is nothing to align. On a saw you will own for a decade, that is the feature worth paying for.

On bevel cuts, yes. A fixed fence gets in the way of the blade as the head tilts, which caps the bevel angle you can actually use on a tall workpiece. Sliding it out of the way restores the capacity the saw is rated for — which is why the rated bevel capacity and the usable one differ on saws without it.
We recorded roughly €403 in France and €842 in Spain on the same reference and the same EAN, on the same day. Nothing about the machine differs. On tools sold partly through third-party sellers this happens routinely, and it is the reason the button on this page checks your own market rather than assuming a European price.
